Monday In Bloom

I forgot to capture the temperature thing at the right time.  It said this in the early evening.

But when I was out taking pictures it was really more like this:

Needless to say, I wasn’t out there very long, and I didn’t do any deadheading like I probably should have.  Still, thankfully, things are looking pretty good, except for a couple of my pansy pots.  Something is going to town on them.  I meant to spray them this week but I got an “out of stock” notice on the spray bottles I ordered.  So, hopefully this week I’ll be able to address it, because if I don’t, I don’t think there will be a next week for some of my pansies. 

The snapdragons are almost ready to … snap!  Sorry, couldn’t resist!  This is going to be a nice, colorful pot once it blooms in the next week or so. 

I love the pink salvia!  And, apparently, so does something else.  Hopefully the insecticidal soap I’m planning making will take care of this. 

I am just blown away by how well the coleus are doing! 

I’m thinking of switching this pot of pink polka dots with the pot of pink polka dots on the other, sunnier, side of this little patch.  Those are growing really well and while these are colorful, they don’t seem to be thriving as well.  Maybe some more sun will help with that.

I like this little pot by the front door.  I think it’s bright and cheerful.  Once that asparagus fern grows a little more, it should add a nice airy touch.

The white pansies are thriving.  Whatever’s getting to the pots on the patio seems to be avoiding the pots in the front patch here. 

The lilies are beginning to make their grand entrance!  I got a nice bloom on Saturday and there are lots more nearly ready to burst! 

The daisies continue to be the star attraction in the garden.   

The new lavender I got seem to be doing okay.  There are lots of little buds on it and it’s looking pretty healthy.

Same with the speedwell.  I was a bit concerned about it initially as most of its blooms seemed to be dying off, but after deadheading a couple weeks ago, they are just glowing!

Monday In Bloom

It was a warm day Sunday, but the humidity was on the low side, so not terrible, unless you were standing in direct sunlight. 

I am so happy, my daisies are blooming!  In the next week or two, I should have some daylilies, too. 

In a quick glance, as I was going through the pictures I took, this one of the salvia reminded me of bunches of grapes, lol.  It’s funny the tricks our eyes can play on us. 

The coleus are sure looking happy! 

The marigolds are merry.  Last year I put marigolds in a partly sunny spot and they did well, but this year I put them in full sun, and they are really shining.

I wasn’t sure how the Globe Amaranth would do, as it’s the first time I’ve ever grown them, but I am really liking how bright they are. 

Daisies!  Blooming daisies!  Woo hoo!  *Snoopyhappydance*

Monday In Bloom

It was a lovely day!  Saturday was a scorcher, and Monday will be also, so I took the opportunity to do some of the work in the garden that I’ve been meaning to get to.  The owie foot and shoulder have made that something I haven’t been looking forward to, so I waited until the weather was a bit more cooperative than my body, at least.  And now my new plants are finally in the ground where they belong.

Not even 70°!  Dreamy!

Look what I found!  As I was walking back from the office, I saw this nest on the sidewalk.  The closest trees were several feet away, so the wind probably blew it.  It must have been empty for a while.

The girl in the office told me that since another unit in our building is empty, they walk this way to show it, and that people always comment on my garden.  She was trying to be sweet and give me what she called “positive feedback.”  It’s a happy kind of pressure.

The new coleus and snapdragons seem to be happy in their new home.

My happy pot.  I filled in an empty space with some new sweet alyssum last week and it seems to be doing well, also.

The burgundy pansies.  I seem to have an insect infestation on some of my pots.  Either aphids or whitefly, I can’t tell, but I do know I’ll be making up a batch of insecticidal soap this week and spraying those buggers!

The white pansies.  They are so cheerful to me.

The new lavender.  I took out the dead and dying ones.  I figured there was so little left on the dying one that it wasn’t worth it to try to save it.

The daisy plant is huge!

And the buds!  Soon!  I think this week!  I’m so excited!

The daylilies are going to bloom soon, too!  Not in time for my birthday like last year, but soon!

The new columbine.  Hopefully it’ll thrive.

As you can see, it was a windy day, so some of my pictures turned out blurry.  Still, it was gorgeous.  Nice temps, low humidity, blue skies, *happysigh*.
